Alexander George Ogston (30 January 1911 – 29 June 1996) was an English biochemist and physical chemist. He studied at Eton College and Balliol College, Oxford, earning his degree in 1933. Ogston's research involved blood proteins, earning his doctorate in Oxford in 1937. He later became a professor at the Australian National University and returned to Oxford as President of Trinity College. He is noted for his three point attachment concept in stereochemistry, and the Ogston sieve theory for gel electrophoresis. He contributed significantly to biochemistry and received numerous accolades throughout his career.
