André Montpetit, also known as Arthur, was a Quebecois designer, engraver, poster artist, and comic book author. Born on March 20, 1943, in Montreal, he passed away on October 30, 2012, in the same city. He was a founding member of Chiendent, the first group of Quebec comic artists, which played a key role in the revival of Quebec comics in 1968. Montpetit also participated in Fusion des arts, a collective focused on exploring the relationship between art and society during the 1960s and 1970s.
