Andrés Vega Delfín, known as El Güero Vega, was a prominent Mexican folk musician born on 24 February 1931. He played a significant role as the requintista of the son jarocho group Mono Blanco, influencing the genre widely. Apart from music, Vega undertook various jobs, including muleteer and sailor, before fully committing to music in 1980. He participated in numerous cultural celebrations, organized fandangos, and toured internationally, celebrating Mexican traditions. Vega passed away at the age of 93 and left a legacy honored by the state of Veracruz with a dedicated medal for traditional musicians.
