MacDonald served as the head football coach at Northern Arizona University from 1965 to 1968, achieving a record of 22 wins, 17 losses, and 1 tie. He also worked as an assistant coach for the NFL teams Seattle Seahawks and Buffalo Bills. MacDonald passed away on May 24, 1985.
