Antero Alberto de Abreu was an Angolan politician and poet born on February 22, 1927, in Luanda. He studied law at the universities of Coimbra and Lisbon, where he began publishing poems. As an anti-colonial activist, he wrote extensively about the subject, gaining recognition in various publications. He remained a prolific writer until his death on March 16, 2017. Abreu was a founding member of the União dos Escritores Angolanos and served as the second Attorney General of the People's Republic of Angola and as the ambassador to Italy.
