He graduated with a degree in history from the University of Iceland in 1996 and later worked as a journalist and film critic. Indriðason is best known for his series featuring Commissioner Erlendur Sveinsson. His third novel, 'Mýrin' (Jar City), brought him international recognition. His works have been translated into 26 languages and he has received multiple literary awards, including the Gold Dagger Award.
