Árpád Eisert was a Hungarian physician and heart surgeon born on February 23, 1911, in Rozsnyó, which is now Rožňava in Slovakia. He graduated with a medical degree from Charles University in 1937 and worked in various hospitals in Czechoslovakia before relocating to Hungary in 1947 due to minority suppression. He performed the first heart surgery in Hungary in 1951 and contributed significantly to the establishment of cardiac surgery in Debrecen during the 1960s. He passed away on September 13, 1974, in Nyíregyháza.
