Stefan Barczay was a Slovak SS-Sturmmann who was part of the Waffen-SS from March 1943. He served as a guard in various subcamps of the Mauthausen concentration camp between May 1943 and May 1945. After World War II, he was tried for war crimes, including the beating of a French prisoner and the shooting of several inmates. Barczay was convicted and sentenced to death, which was carried out on May 27, 1947, in the Landsberg military prison.
