Jores faced political challenges due to his anti-fascist stance and connections to Jewish colleagues, forcing him to leave public service in 1936. He later became a professor at the University of Hamburg and directed psychosomatic studies, emphasizing self-healing among patients and authoring significant works including 'Der Mensch und seine Krankheit'.
