Asger Aaboe was a Danish historian of science and mathematics known for his contributions to the history of ancient Babylonian astronomy. He studied mathematics and astronomy at the University of Copenhagen and earned his Ph.D. in the history of science from Brown University in 1957 under Otto Neugebauer. Aaboe joined Yale University in 1961 and continued his active career there until retirement in 1992. He advanced the understanding of Babylonian astronomical concepts and was elected to the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters in 1975.
