Asoka Handagama is a Sri Lankan filmmaker born in December 1962. He completed his primary and secondary education at a provincial school and studied Mathematics at the University of Kelaniya, where he graduated with a first-class honors degree. He earned his master’s degree in Development Economics from the University of Warwick in 1995. In addition to his career in film, he serves as the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
