Benjamin Franklin Brown (born August 25, 1952) is an American jazz double-bassist from Opa-Locka, Florida. He started learning piano, shifted to guitar, and eventually dedicated himself to the bass. A graduate of the University of Miami, he played with significant jazz musicians and in popular Broadway shows throughout his career. Brown toured internationally and had collaborations with well-known artists including Dizzy Gillespie and Tony Bennett. In addition to performing, he has also contributed to music education at Queens College.
