Caridad Álvarez Martín was a Spanish nun born on May 9, 1933, in Santa Cruz de la Salceda, Burgos, Spain. She was a member of the Augustinian Missionaries congregation. Caridad was assassinated on October 23, 1994, alongside Sister Esther Paniagua Alonso by the Armed Islamic Group due to hatred for the Catholic faith during the Algerian Civil War. She is recognized among the Martyrs of Algeria and was beatified by Pope Francis in 2018.
