Carl-Georg Paul Aurell was a Swedish electrical engineer, born on February 8, 1910, in Stockholm and passed away on October 2, 1999, in Gothenburg. He graduated from the Royal Institute of Technology in 1932, earned a PhD in 1940, and became an associate professor of telegraphy and telephony in 1945. Aurell worked as a chief engineer at Telefon AB L.M. Ericsson and served as a professor in telecommunications and information theory at Chalmers University of Technology from 1956 to 1976. He was elected a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences in 1954.
