Carme Guàrdia Amer (1923-2007) was a notable swimmer from Mallorca, Spain. Competing for Club de Regates and later Club Natació Palma, she excelled from a young age. At just 11, she triumphed in Balearic championships and won multiple events. Guàrdia became both Balearic (1934-1935, 1940-1941) and Spanish champion (1940-1941) in breaststroke. Her record of 3:15.6 minutes stood for 22 years. She was the first Mallorcan woman to win a national championship and retired from competition in 1946. In 1996, the Balearic government awarded her the Premi Cornelius Aticus for sporting merit.
