Carme Portaceli i Roig is a prominent Spanish theater director, choreographer, dramatist, and professor, born in Valencia in 1957. She co-founded the Academy of Performing Arts of Spain and the organizing committee for the Max Awards. In 2005, she established the International Scenic Factory. Portaceli was appointed artistic director of the National Theater of Catalonia in July 2020, succeeding Xavier Albertí, and previously served as artistic director of Teatro Español in Madrid from 2016 to 2019. She has directed over 70 performances and has been an influential figure in the theater scene.
