Chaganti Somayajulu (1915-1994), known as CHASO, was a prominent writer in 20th century Telugu literature, primarily recognized for his short stories. Born Narahari Rao in Srikakulam, he was adopted and renamed, later gaining acclaim for works published from 1942 onward. His collections influenced many writers, and some stories were translated into various languages. He served as a long-term member and president of the Andhra Pradesh Progressive Writers' Association. Apart from his literary contributions, he aligned with humanitarian causes, donating his eyes and body for research after his death.
