Clyde Molesworth Jeffery was a prominent New Zealand political figure who served as the Mayor of Napier from 1974 to 1983. Prior to this, he was a city councillor from 1962 to 1974. Born in Napier, he was educated at Napier Boys' High School and worked in the menswear industry. Jeffery served in the RNZAF during World War II, where he was awarded the British Empire Medal. He received several honors for his public service, including the Companion of the Queen's Service Order in 1985 and the title of freeman of Napier in 1989.
