Corneliu Constantinescu is a Romanian mathematician born in 1929 in Buzău, known for his work in analysis. He studied mathematics at the University of Bucharest, earning his doctorate in 1958 under Simion Stoilow on the classification of Riemann surfaces. He has worked at the Mathematical Institute of the Romanian Academy of Sciences and held visiting professorships at ETH Zurich and EPFL Lausanne. From 1976 until his retirement, he was a professor at ETH Zurich, specializing in Riemann surfaces, axiomatic potential theory, measure spaces, and C*-algebras.
