Daisy Voog-Leidig is a renowned German mountaineer born on January 28, 1932, in Tallinn, Estonia. She gained international fame for being the first woman to successfully climb the Eiger North Face via the Heckmair Route on September 4, 1964, alongside her climbing partner Werner Bittner. While her Eiger ascent is often considered her most significant achievement, she has a number of other remarkable climbs, including the first repeat of the Confortoris on the Marmolata d’Ombretta and a notable ascent of the northwest face of Monte Civetta.
