Daniel Paul Siewiorek is an American computer engineer born on June 2, 1946, in Cleveland. He earned his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1968, followed by a master's degree and Ph.D. from Stanford University in 1969 and 1972, respectively. Siewiorek became Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University, where he directed significant research centers and contributed to multiple projects in parallel computing and mobile computing applications. He is recognized for his work in system reliability and has received several prestigious awards, including the Eckert-Mauchly Award in 1988.
