David Victor Dick was a British jockey known for competing in the Grand National between 1951 and 1965, winning in 1956 on E.S.B. He remains the only jockey to achieve the Lincoln-Grand National Spring Double and holds the record for the most clear rounds at Aintree, completing nine. Born in Ashampstead, Berkshire, he was the son of David Purvis Dick, a jockey and racehorse trainer. He passed away in Reading at 76 and was married to Caroline Lockhart, with whom he had two children, including Olympic bronze medalist Daisy Dick.
