David Chester Itkin, born on May 2, 1957, is an acclaimed American conductor and composer. He was the music director and conductor of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra from 1993 to 2010 and currently holds the title of conductor laureate for that orchestra. Itkin is also the music director and conductor of the Abilene Philharmonic Orchestra. Additionally, he serves as a professor of music and the director of orchestral studies at the University of North Texas College of Music, showcasing his dedication to both performance and education.
