David Shapell was a Polish-born American real estate developer and philanthropist, known for co-founding Shapell Industries, one of Southern California's largest real estate companies. A Holocaust survivor, he escaped Poland during WWII after witnessing the atrocities against his family. In addition to his business endeavors, he was a significant supporter of various Jewish charities, contributing to the Jewish Defense Forces and other educational and cultural institutions in Israel. He was married for 65 years and had three children, maintaining a legacy of remembrance and philanthropy.
