Dean L. Kamen (born April 5, 1951) is an American inventor and innovator from New Hampshire. Born in Long Island, New York, he attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute but left before graduating after five years of advanced research, particularly on the AutoSyringe drug delivery pump, which includes insulin pumps. He is the son of Jack Kamen, an illustrator known for his work in Mad Magazine and various EC Comics publications.
