Dieter Pohmer was a German economist and university lecturer, born on December 31, 1925, in Berlin. He studied economics at the University of Mannheim and the Free University of Berlin, where he earned his diploma in 1951. He earned his doctorate in 1953 and later became habilitated. From 1959 until his retirement in 1994, he was a professor at the University of Tübingen, where he led the Department of Economics and Finance. He was involved in several commissions and served as a policy advisor. Pohmer passed away on March 19, 2013, in Tübingen.
