Dilonei Francisco Melara was a Brazilian criminal known for leading the largest riot in the history of Porto Alegre, Brazil. Born on April 26, 1954, he started his criminal career in the 1970s with taxi and bus robberies. In 1994, he was involved in a notorious hostage situation where he and his associates took 27 hostages during a prison escape, resulting in the deaths of five individuals. He founded the first organized crime faction in Rio Grande do Sul called Os Manos and continued to escape from prison until his murder in 2005.
