Diran Parikyan was a Bulgarian public figure of Armenian descent and a politician affiliated with the Bulgarian Communist Party (BCP). Born on January 28, 1921, in Plovdiv, he joined the Revolutionary Socialist Youth in 1940 and the BCP in 1945. He held several positions including secretary of local committees, director of the State Construction Association in Plovdiv, and served as mayor of Plovdiv from June 27, 1971, to April 3, 1979. He was also a consultant in the Council of Ministers and actively engaged in the Armenian community in Bulgaria.
