Donato Miranda Fonseca was a Mexican lawyer and politician born on June 29, 1908, in Chilapa, Guerrero. He was a member of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) and served as the first head of the Secretariat of the Presidency under President Adolfo López Mateos from 1958 to 1964. His political career included roles as a federal deputy, senator, and mayor of Acapulco. Although he was a prominent figure and seen as a potential presidential candidate in 1963, he lost favor when the PRI nomination went to his rival, Gustavo Díaz Ordaz. He passed away on September 29, 1995.
