Douglas Edward Beasy was an Australian rules footballer born on April 16, 1930, who played in the VFL for the Carlton Football Club. He debuted in 1951 and was awarded Carlton's best and fairest in 1956. After leaving Carlton in 1959, he became captain-coach for Box Hill, winning the J. J. Liston Trophy in 1961. Aside from football, Beasy worked as a primary teacher and principal and was active in community service through Rotary and his church. He passed away on May 12, 2013.
