Edgar Milne-Redhead was a British botanist known for his extensive plant collection and contributions to taxonomy, especially in tropical Africa. Born in 1906 in Somerset, he worked at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, starting in 1928. He notably worked in Northern Rhodesia, where he discovered several new plant species. Milne-Redhead was involved in establishing the Association for the Taxonomic Study of the Flora of Tropical Africa and published numerous plant names. He served as Deputy Keeper at Kew and was president of the Botanical Society of the British Isles, making significant contributions to botany until his death in 1996.
