Eduard Artsrunyan was a prominent Armenian and Soviet painter and educator, regarded as one of the greatest representatives of contemporary Armenian painting. He was recognized as the People's Artist of the Armenian SSR in 1989 and became a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR in 1961. Born in Gümrü on December 28, 1929, he made significant contributions to the arts until his passing on May 5, 2010, in Yerevan. His artistic legacy continues to influence the visual arts in Armenia.
