Eduardo Parrado Conde was a Galician sculptor born on January 5, 1921, in Santiago de Compostela and died on May 7, 2003. He was a disciple of Francisco Asorey. Notable works include a cross dedicated to King Juan Carlos I for the Palace of Zarzuela (1972), the monument to the Camariñas Lace Makers (1985), and the Emigrant Monument in Sada. In 2001, a square in the Santa Marta neighborhood of Santiago de Compostela was named after him, close to his home.
