He competed in singles and won bronze medals at the European Championships in 1932 and 1933, finishing behind Karl Schäfer and Ernst Baier. He also earned a bronze medal at the 1934 World Championships in Stockholm, marking his only medal at the world level. In the late 1930s, Erdös emigrated to the UK, married in 1944, and adopted the name Eric Forester.
