Erich Kostner was an Italian sports executive and pioneer of tourism in Alta Badia, South Tyrol. He founded the company S.r.l. Sciovie Ladinia in 1947, creating Italy's first tested chairlift. Throughout his career, he initiated developments that included 50 cable cars, ski runs, and facilities enhancing winter tourism. Kostner was also a founding member of the Dolomiti Superski in 1974 and served as president of the National Association of Cableway Operators (ANEF) until 1991. In recognition of his contributions, he was awarded the title of 'Cavaliere del lavoro' by the Italian president in 2009.
