Eskendir Khasangaliev was a renowned Kazakh singer (lyrical baritone), composer, and musician, born on February 13, 1940, in the West Kazakhstan region, Karatobe district. He was recognized as a People's Artist of the Kazakh SSR in 1984 and received the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2006. In 2010, he was honored as an honorary citizen of the West Kazakhstan region. Khasangaliev passed away on April 30, 2021, in Almaty.
