Estian Calitz is a South African economist and emeritus professor at Stellenbosch University. He serves as the CEO of finance and the head of the university's Business School. Calitz obtained his Ph.D. in commerce from Stellenbosch University in 1986. In 1989, he was appointed as the deputy director-general of the South African Department of Finance. In 1996, he left public service to become a professor of economics at the University of South Africa. By 2001, he was appointed as the dean of the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences at Stellenbosch University.
