He co-founded the Antonio Morel Orchestra in 1953 and later established his band, Félix del Rosario y Sus Magos del Ritmo, which influenced Dominican popular music for over 20 years. He composed notable merengue pieces and received several awards. He passed away on October 26, 2012, at the age of 78 due to a heart attack.
