Floyd H. Hyde was an American businessman, attorney, and politician of Volga German descent. He served as the Mayor of Fresno from 1965 to January 1969 and as Under Secretary of Housing and Urban Development for nearly a year in 1973. Hyde was the last Fresno mayor born and raised in the city until 2021. He was born on March 18, 1921, in Fresno, California, and served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. After the war, he earned a law degree and began practicing law in Fresno.
