Francesco Fornabaio was an Italian aerobatic pilot born on March 5, 1957, in Stigliano. He was part of the national Italian aerobatic team since 2002 and competed in various national and international competitions. He became the Italian champion in the highest category of aerobatics in 2014. Tragically, he died in an aircraft crash during the Fly Venice 2014 airshow in Venice, piloting an XtremeAir Xtreme 3000. He is remembered for setting a record for the longest distance flown in an Extra 300, totaling 14,000 km from Milan to Al Ain.
