Freda Nellie Skinner (1911-1993) was a British sculptor and woodcarver, notable for her role as head of sculpture at Wimbledon School of Art from 1945 to 1971. Born in Warlingham, Surrey, she exhibited a keen interest in art from a young age. Skinner studied under prominent artists and contributed significantly to the art community through her sculptures and teaching. Her works include the 1972 sculpture Virgin and Child, located in St Elphege's Church, and she was recognized by various art societies. A retrospective exhibition of her work was held in 1993.
