Alhaji Garxim Varmuyan Kromah was a notable Liberian journalist who transitioned into a warlord and leader of the ULIMO faction during the Liberian Civil War. Born on February 11, 1953, he played significant roles in the government under President William Tolbert and later Samuel Doe. Kromah was influential in the resistance against Charles Taylor's regime and led one faction of ULIMO after its split in 1994. He also ran for president in 1997 and 2005 but faced electoral defeats. He passed away on January 18, 2022.
