Gábor Jodál was a Romanian composer, rector, and teacher born on April 12, 1913, in Székelyudvarhely. He studied composition in Budapest under Zoltán Kodály and Albert Siklós. Jodál is known for his compositions including a sinfonietta, orchestral works, chamber music, songs, and choral pieces. He served as the rector and taught composition at Gheorghe Dima Music Conservatory from 1950 to 1977. His early work was influenced by post-impressionism, but he later developed a neoclassical style. He passed away on December 6, 1989, in Kolozsvár, Romania.
