George Flaggs Jr. is an American politician who has served as the Mayor of Vicksburg, Mississippi since 2013, after winning consecutive elections in 2017 and 2021. Previously, he was a member of the Mississippi House of Representatives for 25 years, where he represented the 55th district as a Democrat before becoming an Independent in 2018. Beyond his political career, Flaggs has been involved in community services, including roles as a youth court counselor and with local planning commissions. He married Valencia Jones in 2014 and has two children.
