He achieved notable success in athletics, winning gold at the 1964 European Junior Games in both discus and shot put. He competed in the European Championships in 1966 but did not progress past the qualifications. In 1969, he finished tenth in discus throw and earned a bronze medal in 1971. Fejér secured fifth place at the 1972 Olympics in Munich and ninth at the 1974 European Championships in Rome, becoming a prominent figure in Hungarian athletics.
