William Gilbert Wilson was a prominent Anglican bishop who served as the Bishop of Kilmore, Elphin and Ardagh from 1981 until 1993. He was born on January 23, 1918, and educated at Belfast Royal Academy and Trinity College, Dublin, before being ordained in 1942. He held several ecclesiastical positions, including curacies in Belfast and Bangor, the rectorship in Armoy, and Dean of Connor prior to his episcopal appointment. Additionally, he was the editor of The Church of Ireland Gazette between 1963 and 1966.
