Guido Carestiato was an Italian aviator and military pilot, born on January 17, 1911, in Favaro Veneto. He served as a marshal pilot and participated in the Spanish Civil War, earning a silver medal for valor. After leaving the Regia Aeronautica in 1939, he worked at Aeronautica Macchi in Varese, where he conducted test flights for numerous aircraft prototypes, including the C.202 Folgore and C.205 Veltro. Notably, he also engaged in aerial combat during WWII, accumulating over 5,600 flight hours and testing over 1,800 aircraft before his retirement in 1971.
