Halina Zalewska is a Polish-Dutch visual artist born in 1956 in Radzyń Podlaski, Poland. She began her art education at fourteen at the Liceum Sztuk Plastycznych in Jarosław and later studied sculpture at the Akademia Sztuk Pięknych in Warsaw, graduating with honors. After marrying Dutch artist Hans Laban in 1981, she continued her studies at the Rijksacademie in Amsterdam. Zalewska became a freelance lecturer at the Akademie voor Kunst en Vormgeving St. Joost in 2002 and engages in international projects through Rotary Club Utrecht International since 2003. Her works are exhibited widely and kept in various collections.
