He held various academic positions, including assistant and professor, and was head of the Maternity Clinic from 1983 to 1987. Lokvančić authored 58 scientific and professional papers during his career and mentored several master's and doctoral theses. He was also a visiting lecturer in international institutions and a participant in various veterinary congresses before his retirement in 1997.
