Hanna Petrynowska was a Polish medical doctor and pediatrician born on February 23, 1901, in Warsaw. During the German occupation, she worked as a factory doctor and became actively involved in the Polish resistance. She headed the medical services of the AK PWB/17/S group and organized a field hospital during the Warsaw Uprising. Captured by German soldiers on August 28, 1944, she was shot while performing surgery. Her contributions were recognized posthumously, and a commemorative plaque was unveiled in her honor in 2005.
